Alexis Gursky Sebastian

Alexis Gursky SebastianAlexis Gursky Sebastian blends a desire to help her clients with her financial and estate savvy from a background in family and financial law. She enjoys helping families resolve issues including support and custody. Her focus includes equitable distribution and support, as well as custody work and estate planning. She finds family law to be a dynamic field where emotions can run high and she gets her highest satisfaction from helping people put their lives back together as they go through a divorce.

Alexis comes from a family with a medical background, but she quickly discovered while in school that a legal career would allow her to help people without having to come into contact with as much blood as a medical career. After meeting David Pollock over a decade ago, Alexis switched her focus from plaintiffs' malpractice to family law. She served as counsel and co-counsel on a variety of family law cases, including divorce, support, custody, and equitable distribution cases. After the birth of her son, she began her own practice with one of the financial experts she worked with frequently. Together they focused on estate planning and business planning.

Alexis is dedicated to her clients but also brings an objective view to their cases. She balances zealous representation with the ability to explain what clients can reasonably expect. She tries to help her clients see what is most important to them so they can navigate toward the best possible outcome based on their needs.

Outside of the office, Alexis spends most of her time with her husband and their two young children. She volunteers as a soccer coach for their teams and also enjoys skiing, sports, tennis, and travel. She is an active volunteer for the Samburu Project, which provides easy access to clean, safe drinking water to communities throughout the Samburu district of Kenya. When she has down time, Alexis loves to read.

Alexis is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Allegheny County Bar Association (Family Law Sections). She has been an active member of the original Pittsburgh chapter of the Samburu Project since 2005. Alexis has been the Recording Secretary of the Jefferson Elementary School PTA in Mt. Lebanon for 2010-2011, and she is the soccer coach for the Jefferson Elementary School Spring and Fall leagues.

Alexis is a graduate of the University of Dayton School of Law in Dayton, Ohio. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania, where she gradated Cum Laude.
